WHO
is eligible to join?
Membership is open to journalists, public relations and other communications professionals whose principal job functions involve informing and educating members of the foodservice industry through editorial and public relations media. Those considered eligible are: editors and writers for foodservice industry publications; public relations and marketing communications professionals for foodservice suppliers, restaurant chains, foodservice management companies and other organizations active in foodservice; and freelancers and consultants providing communications services in the foodservice industry. Memberships are for individuals; there are no corporate or group memberships.
WHAT does IFEC do?
Through its annual conferences and other programs, IFEC brings together members to exchange ideas and gain perspective on important issues. A collegial atmosphere encourages the development of professional working relationships between editors and publicists.
Our educational programs strive to improve the quality of business-to-business communication within the foodservice industry and encourage high professional and aesthetic standards.
We have two scholarship programs: one for full-time college students studying for careers in foodservice communications and another for IFEC members pursuing professional development.
WHEN do members meet?
There are 3 annual events: A conference in the fall, a reception during the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago in May, and an informal gathering during the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo in Los Angeles in August.
